Here is a FREE Sock pattern for you.
ZIG ZAG ALLEY
Material: 2 skeins Cherry Tree Hill (Louet Gems)
Needle Size: #0 -#1 DPN (or size to obtain gauge)
Stitch Marker
**Pattern: Multiple of 8 sts. (*Note: all rows do not
carry the same multiple!)
KNIT ALL ODD ROWS
Row 2: K 3, K 2 tog, *K 1, YO, K 1, SKP, K 2, K 2 tog;
repeat from *to last 3 STS, K 1, YO, K 2
Row 4: K 2, K 2 tog, * K 1, (YO, K 1) 2 times, SKP,
K 2 tog; repeat from * to last 4 STS, K 1, YO, K 3
Row 6: K 4, *YO, K 3, YO, K 1, SKP, K 1; repeat
from *to last 4 STS, YO, K 4
Row 8: K 6, K 2 TOG, *K 1, Yo, K 1, SKP, K 2, K 2 tog;
repeat from *to last 7 STS, SKP, K 5
Row 10: K 5, K 2 TOG, *K 1, (YO, K 1) 2 times, SKP,
K 2 TOG; repeat from *to last 6 STS, SKP, K4
Row 12: K 4, K 2 TOG, *K 1 YO, K 3, YO, K 1, SKP;
repeat from *to last 3 STS, K 3
Repeat these 12 rows to obtain pattern.
Cast on: 72 sts
Work Ribbing for 1 inch
K 1, P 1
Leg: Work Pattern over 38 sts, K rest of sts; for 6 inches
or desired length
Heel Flap:
Knit 18 sts. From Needle #1, turn; Purling 36 sts altogether turn.
Remaining 36 sts for instep.
Row 1: *Sl 1, K 1, repeat from *
Row 2: Sl 1, Purl remaining sts.
Row 3: Sl 1, *Sl 1, K 1, repeat from *
Row 4: Repeat row 2
Repeat these 4 rows for 2 (2 ½) inches depending on the length
You want the heel
Turning Heel:
Row 1: K 23 sts., ssk, turn (slip, slip, knit)
Row 2: Sl 1, P 10, P 2 tog, turn
Row 3: Sl 1, K 10, ssk, turn
Row 4: Sl 1, P 10, P 2 tog, turn
Repeat rows 3 and 4 until you have 12 sts left
Heel Gusset:
Pick up K18 sts on RS of heel.
**Work pattern on instep sts.
Pick up K18 sts on LS of heel, K 6 sts off heel needle
Note: 24 sts on #1 and #4, 18 sts on #2 and #3
First round: K to 3 sts before end on #1, K 2 tog, K 1
**Work instep pattern. K 1, ssk, at the beginning of
#4 needle, K to end.
Round 2: **Work pattern
Round 3: Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until 18 sts remain on #1
and #4
Foot:
Continue **Pattern for front of foot: Knitting back side of
Of socks. Work until foot measures 6 ½ (7) inches or desired
Length before toe decrease
Toe Shaping:
Decrease as follows: Row 1: *K 6, K 2 tog, repeat from *
Row 2: Knit 6 rows
Row: 3: *K 5, K 2 tog, repeat from *
Row 4: Knit 5 rows
Row 5: * K 4, K 2 tog, repeat from *
Row 6: Knit 4 rows
Row 7: *K 3, K 2 tog, repeat from *
Row 8: Knit 3 rows
Row 9: *K 2, K 2 tog, repeat from *
Row 10: Knit 2 rows
Row 11: *k 1, K 2 tog. Repeat from *
Row 12: Knit 1 row
Row: 13: *K 2 tog, repeat from *
Cut yarn and thread through remaining sts, and secure, weave ends.
