Lace Pullover (Sleeveless)

Materials: 11 [13, 14] oz. sport weight
yarn color of choice

1 pair each of No. 3 and No. 5 needles. 3
stitch holders.

Measurements: Bust 34 [36, 38] inches.
Length from shoulder 23 [23 1/2, 24] inches

Figures in brackets refer to larger sizes.
Where only one figure is given this refers to all sizes.

Gauge: 6 sts and 8 rows to 1 inch on
No. 5 needles

Abbreviations: K-knit,P-purl,RS-right
side facing,yo-yarn over,sl-slip stitch,p.s.s.o-pass slip stitch over,
st(s)-stitch(es),rep-repeat,tog-together,WS-wrong side


Front

With No. 3 needles, cast n 108 [114,120] sts.

Work in K 1, P 1 ribbing for 3 inches. Change
to No. 5 needles and continue in lace pattern as follows:

Row 1: (RS facing) K 0[3,0], *K 4,
K 2 tog, yo, K 3, yo, sl 1, K 1, p s s o, K 1, rep from*

to last 0[3,0] sts, K 0,[3,0] sts.

Note: throughout pattern, each yo counts
as one st.

Row 2: P

Row 3: K 0[3,0], *K 3, K 2 tog,
yo, K 1, yo, sl 1, K 1, p s s o, K 4, rep from * to last 0[3,0] sts, K0[3,0]
sts

Row 4: P

Row 5: K 0[3,0], *K2, K 2 tog,
yo K 3, yo, sl 1, K 1, p s s o, K 3, rep from * to last 0[3,0] sts,

K0[3,0] sts

Row 6: P

Row 7: K 0[3,0], *K 5, K 2 tog,
yo, K 1, yo, sl 1, K 1, p s s o, K , rep from * to last 0[3,0] sts,

Row 8: P

These 8 rows form the pattern. Continue in
pattern until from measures 13 1/2,[13 3/4, 14] inches from cast edge,
ending with WS row

Shape Arm holes

Keeping pattern correct, bind off 6 [8,10]
sts at beg of next 2 rows--96, [98,100] sts.

**Divide for neck (RS facing)

Next row bind off 5 sts, work in pattern across
36, [37,38] sts (including st already on needle after binding off), sl
next 14 sts to st holder for front of neck, sl remaining 4 1, [42,43] sts
to another st holder for other side.

Now work on first set of sts only.

***Keeping pattern correct, bind off 2 sts
at side edge on every other row 3 times

AND AT THE SAME TIME bind off 2 sts
at neck edge on every other row. Then keeping side edge straight,
continue to bind off 2 sts at neck edge on every row until 18, [19,20]
sts remain. Now decrease 1 st t decrease edge on every other tow
twice. work even on 16, [17,18] sts until armhole measures 9 1/2,[9
3/4, 10], ending at side edge.

Shape shoulder

Keeping pattern correct, bind off 6 sts at
beg, of next row. Bind off 5, [6,6] sts at beg of following alternate
row.

Work 1 row. Bind off remaining 5 [5,
6] sts. With RS facing, rejoin yarn at neck of edge of sts for other side
and work in pattern to end of row.

Next Row Bind off 5 sts, work in pattern
to end--36 [37,38] sts.

Now work s for first side from *** to end.

Back

Work as for front from ** to **

Keeping pattern correct, bind off 5 sts at
beg of next 6 rows -- 74, [76,78] sts.

work even in pattern until arm holes measures
8 1/2, [8 3/4, 9], ending with a WS row.

Divide for neck (RS facing)

Next Row work in pattern across 19 [20,21]
sts, sl next 36 sts to st holder for back of neck,

sl remaining 19, [20,21] sts to another st
holder for other side.

Continue on first set of sts only.

****Keeping pattern correct, dec 1 st at
neck edge on every other row 3 times -- 16 [17,18] sts.

Work even until back measures same as front
to shoulder shaping, ending at side edge.

Shape Shoulder

Keeping pattern correct, bind off 6 sts at
beg of next row. bind off 5 [5,6] sts at beg of following alternate
row.

Now work as for first side from **** to end.


Neckband

With a back stitch, sew right shoulder seam.

With No 3 needles and RS facing, pick up
56, [58,60] sts down left front neck shaping, K

across 14 sts on front st holder, pick up
56, [58,60] sts up right front neck shaping to shoulder seam,

pick up 14 sts down right back neck shaping,
K across 36 sts on back st holder, pick up 14 sts up left back neck shaping
-- 190, [194, 198] sts.

Work in K 1, P 1, ribbing for 8 rows.
Bind off in ribbing.

Armhole Bands (make 2)

Sew remaining shoulder seam and neckband seam

With No 3 needles and RS facing, pick up
138, [142, 148] sts evenly spaced around armhole edge.

Work in K 1, P 1, ribbing for 8 rows.
Bind off in ribbing.

Finishing

Sew side and armhole band seams.
